Rutland Red Aged Red Leicester has been traditionally made in the Vale of Belvoir, Leicestershire, where it is buttered, cloth bound and left to mature for up to 6 months, This produces a wonderful flaky open texture and a lemony, slightly sweet, nutty caramelised flavour. The rich golden colour comes from the addition of annatto. This cheese recently featured as our 'Guest Cheese of the Month' when it became so popular it is now with us to stay! An award winning cheese winning 3 Gold medals at the Global Cheese Awards, and 4 Gold awards at the International Cheese Awards!
