Brie de Meaux, probably the most famous of all Brie's, is named after the French village of Meaux situated approximately 50 kilometres to the East of Paris.  Brie de Meaux is a raw, soft, unpasteurised cow's milk cheese with a bloomy rind and a rich and creamy taste underlined by the sweet buttery flavours of mushrooms, truffles and almonds. Although true for most cheeses, it is important to allow this cheese to come up to room temperature before serving to truly appreciate the depth of flavour!

Unpasteurised

Here at The Cheese Larder, South Molton we sell a wide range of cheeses, some from just a few miles down the road, some from our European friends - why not pop in next time you are passing and have a look at what we offer.  As well as our fantastic selection of cheeses we also stock many other deli items, from fresh olives to dried pasta.  If you are looking for an unusual gift for the 'Cheese Lover' in your family look no further than our range of giftware, from bakers to boards!
