The Original Devon Half Moon Biscuits . Baked by the Chanter family for generations, Devon Half Moons are a traditional Devonshire biscuit eaten with butter and cheese .... or dunked in tea!
The story began in 1984 when Ernest Chanter was approached by a retiring baker offering him the opportunity to continue his legacy - the creation of the Devon Half Moon biscuit. Unable to believe his luck, Ernest jumped at the chance to manufacture a product with such a prestigious heritage.
The secret recipe was delivered to Chanters Bakery in a locked briefcase. Ernest and his two sons were given a personal masterclass in the traditional method of production and soon they were double baking the delicious biscuits in their 1928 oven.
And now ..... many years later ..... the recipe remains untouched and the Chanters' Devon Half Moons continue to be as popular as ever.
